X-Ray of Tooth Decay
A dental xray taken by a dentist showing the upper and lower right first, second and third molar teeth. The blue arrow denotes the extensive decay at the distal aspect of this tooth. A contributory factor to the caries seen here, may be due to the mesial impaction of the lower right wisdom tooth causing a food trap. The extent of decay shows there to be pulpal involvement. If the dentist deems it appropriate to restore the coronal aspect of the tooth, root canal treatment would need to be carried out.
