Root Filling x-ray
The upper left dental xray shows apical infections associated with both the premolar and molar teet. Unlike the molar, it can be seen that the premolar has been previously root filled but infection has reoccurred. The upper right xray shows the two teeth after root canal treatment has been carried out by a dentist. The root filling on the premolar can be seen to be of a more ideal length, when compared to the previous root filling. Root filled teeth tend to become more brittle than normal teeth and also discolour with time. With this in mind, a dentist may wish to use a crown or other restorations to improve the strength and appearance of the tooth.
