This dental xray shows a dental abscess on the upper left second premolar. The abscess is present despite a dentist having previously carried out a root canal treatment on the tooth which was sealed with a restoration. The treatment options available would either be repeating root canal treatment, an apicectomy or extraction of the tooth.
