X-Ray of Tooth abscess
This dental xray shows a tooth abscess related to the upper right second incisor. This is seen as a periapical radiolucent (darker) areas denoted by the blue circle. The abscess is present despite a dentist having previously carried out a root canal treatment on the tooth. Treatment options would be repeating root canal treatment, apicectomy or extraction. Due to the tendency for root filled teeth to discolour, cosmetic treatment may be considered such as tooth whitening or veneers.
