Miscellaneous Photographs - Dental Bite Guard
These intra oral dental photos show a soft bite guard, to be worn over the upper dentition, whilst asleep. The purpose of such an appliance, in this instance, is to offset nocturnal brusixm (tooth grinding whilst asleep), and it’s associated symptoms. The top intra oral dental photos show the upper dental arch ‘before’ and ‘after’ the bite guard is placed over the upper teeth. The construction of such an appliance requires two visits to the dental surgery. Impressions of the upper and lower dental arches are taken by the dentist on the first dental surgery visit and then sent to the dental laboratory. These impressions are then used to form models of the dental arches from which the bite guard can be fabricated. The second dental surgery visit involves the placement of the bite guard onto the upper dental arch.
