Porcelain Crown

The above dental intra oral pictures show the management of a heavily decayed dentition. The ‘before’ intra oral photo shows a state of neglect with obviously apparent dark areas of decay areas affecting all the teeth. The ‘after’ intra oral photo shows the vastly improved cosmetic smile once the affected teeth have been restored with porcelain crowns. Prior to any crown restorations, the dentist should treat any periodontal disease and provide dietary and hygiene advice. Any tooth abscess found on examination or showing on an xray would require a root canal treatment or extraction. The treatment of such a dental condition would require multiple dental surgery visits from start to completion. In the above example, the final cosmetic dentistry was followed by the making of a night wear bite guard to prevent any damage to the restorations by the patients bruxism (tooth grinding).
